Who We Are

DIY Media's humble beginnings was in a small apartment in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood back in 2006. Working around the clock for many days and nights, with the smell of teriyaki chicken constantly in the air from the restaurant below we created our first social commerce product the DIY Music Platform.

We have since taken that same technology that helped indie artists and labels reach fans on social sites and have introduced it to the advertising world with the simple goal of helping brands advertise to consumers with the focus on social networks.

    David Robb has enjoyed a successful career spanning more than 20 years in CEO, chairman and founder roles for startups in marketing, graphics and digital media. David has an MA in economics from Duke University and a BA in business management from North Carolina State University.

    President/ Chief Operating Officer

    Jim Lively holds a BBA in marketing and finance from Pacific Lutheran University. His career has spanned management and executive positions in Fortune 500 corporations, start ups, public offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. As COO, he is responsible for the overall structure of the organization with a main vision of providing a variety of diversified digital offerings to different market industries through social commerce tools.

    Grant Neerings has had a long and successful career in managing high-tech growth companies. As CTO, he is responsible for oversight of all technical components of the DIY Media Platform and its related services, across the various asset types it supports including music, video, games, and audiobooks. Grant has an MA in Organizational Communications from Brigham Young University and a BA in Philosophy from the University of Utah.

    Souvik Dutta studied computer science at Wesleyan College and North Carolina State University before spending 13 years at IBM as an Advisory Software Engineer. He went on to form Abstract Logix, a cutting-edge music promotion and distribution company that connects musicians across the planet with their fans.

    Kami Kauzlarich is a digital media professional with over seven years of experience in interactive, mobile, social and traditional advertising. She received her B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in marketing and has since followed her passion for advertising from Iowa to careers in Phoenix and Seattle. When she isn’t thinking up the next best campaign idea she is on a quest to find the perfect slice of pizza.

    Joe Rodriguez has more than 15 years of experience in the digital media and entertainment industries. He began his career as almost any music nerd does at a small indie record store and then moved on to college radio to manage music direction while pursuing his B.A. in Political Science. His appreciation of technology and digital media lead him on a path that allowed for him to meld his two loves into a career. Outside of working on Product Management and making sure everything works for DIY Media Joe loves futbol, Godzilla movies, as well as watching old episodes of the Muppets with his kids.

    Prior to joining DIY Media as an intern in January of 2010, Casey worked in the music industry at the Recording Academy and a couple of indie record labels helping run their marketing and operations. An enjoyment of mathematics led him to earn his BA from Seattle University with a focus on Economics and Information Systems. His working title is “Mr. Awesome” and he could be considered a coffee snob.

    Sarah Gross carries a reputation for excellence and integrity in client service, providing a consultative approach which results in a trusted and respected relationship. Her background in advertising, marketing strategy and media solutions make her invaluable. Her education from Bellevue College and her previous employer Verizon Wireless groomed her for sales and client service on a large scale, but if you ask her, it’s her work with small businesses that gave her an unmatched passion to help companies grow. Sarah lives with her husband and two boys. On a good weekend you can find them hitting the bike trails. On a great weekend you can find the two of them at a winery.
